Frequently Asked Questions


  • How do I become a therapy client?

    Submit an interest form here  and one of our staff members will call you within 7 business days to tell you more about our clinic and our policies. They will then ask you some questions related to the type of service you are seeking (Therapy or Assessment) and your current concerns. They will also inform you of your fee. This information is then discussed with our directors, who will make a decision based on student training needs.You can expect a follow up call within a week of the phone screen to let you know whether we will be able to place you right away, put you on our waitlist, or give you referrals to other clinics. 

  • What do services cost?

    The cost of services is determined by a sliding scale based on income and the amount of people in the household supported on that income. The fee for therapy ranges from $10 to $100. The fee for a comprehensive cognitive assessment ranges from $600 to $1800. You will be informed of your fee during the phone intake

  • Do you accept insurance?

    No, we do not take insurance at this time. Insurance companies often do not reimburse services provided by trainees. 

  • How do I make a payment?

    We accept payment via debit card or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover). We do not accept cash, checks or money order(s) at this time. Payment is expected at the time of services. 

  • What is a training clinic?

    A training clinic is staffed by graduate students in clinical psychology. Our trainees are doctoral students that practice under the direction of licensed clinical psychologists and receive intensive supervision on each case. All sessions with student therapists are video-recorded as part of our training functions. Video-recordings are kept in secure electronic locations along with all other clinic records and are only viewed by relevant clinicians and supervisors. 

  • How long is a therapy appointment?

    A therapy appointment lasts 50 minutes and recurs weekly 
  • How long is an assessment appointment?

  • Do you offer marriage counseling or group therapy?

    At this time, we do not offer couples’ therapy or marriage counseling. We periodically offer family therapy, parenting groups, or other forms of group therapy. We will update the “Services” page of our website when those become available.

  • Do you offer telehealth services?

    As a training clinic, we prioritize in-person services. However, we are able tooffer certain services via HIPAA compliant virtual platform on a limited basis.Please note that we are not able to offer telehealth services to clients residing or traveling outside of the state of Georgia.  

  • What treatment modalities are used in the clinic?

    Our clinicians are trained in a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), interpersonal therapy (IPT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based interventions.
