Sherryl Goodman

Dr. Goodman received her B.A. with honors in Psychology from Connecticut College in 1972 (Magna Cum Laude). She completed her Ph.D. in Psychology (Clinical; APA-approved) at University of Waterloo in 1978. Her clinical training included: Summer Intern at New York University Medical Center, Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital, New York in 1973; Summer Intern at Oxford Mental Health Center, Woodstock, Ontario in 1974; Student staff member for the Psychology Clinic, University of Waterloo, Ontario from 1974 to 1976; and Psychology Intern at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina from 1976 to 1977. Dr. Goodman joined the faculty in the Department of Psychology at Emory University in 1977. She is a licensed practicing psychologist in the State of Georgia. She is currently a Samuel Candler Dobbs Professor of Psychology at Emory University.

Katherine Cullum

Katie is a fourth year PhD student in the Clinical Psychology program at Emory. She graduated from the University of Texas in 2013 with a B.A. in Psychology. Prior to coming to Emory, she worked as Project Coordinator for Dr. David Yeager and Lab Manager for Dr. Cristine Legare at UT Austin. Her research interests center on better understanding the early cognitive, biological, and social processes driving the development of depression. By studying these vulnerabilities to depression, she hopes to help develop more effective prevention programs.

Meeka Halperin

Meeka Halperin

Meeka is a third year doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology program at Emory University. She graduated from Williams College in 2012 with a B.A. in Psychology. Subsequently, she worked as a Research Assistant at the Nurture Science Program at Columbia University Medical Center where she examined depression and anxiety symptoms in mothers of preterm infants during their NICU stays and post-discharge. Meeka is interested in examining the risk factors and progression of perinatal depression, as well as early predictors of infant developmental outcomes. She also hopes to explore potential interventions that may optimize developmental outcomes of children of depressed mothers.

Hannah Simon

Hannah is a third year PhD student in the Clinical Psychology program at Emory. She graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2012 with a B.A. in Psychology, History, and Jewish studies. Prior to coming to Emory, she was a research assistant for Dr. Bruce Compas in the Vanderbilt Stress and Coping lab, and was an IRTA Fellow working with Dr. Marc Bornstein in the Child and Family Research Section of the National Institute of Child and Human Development (NICHD). Her research on the effects of maternal depression on child development focuses on the analysis of women's narrative of parenting while depressed, and children's perceptions of their mother's depression.

Blaire Pingeton is a first year PhD student in the CAMEL lab. She graduated from New York University in 2013 with a degree in music. Upon graduating, Blaire enrolled in the Columbia University psychology postbac program and began working with Dr. Catherine Monk at Columbia University Medical Center. In Dr. Monk’s lab Blaire coordinated three studies, each using a wide array of methodologies to examine the perinatal origins of disrupted development. Blaire’s research interests include continuing to focus on perinatal psychobiology, and how prenatal maternal behavior, socioeconomic status, and fetal/maternal physiology influences child development.

Christine Kim

Christine joined the lab in September 2016 as the lead project staff for the AMOR (Analyzing Moderators of Risk) project, an NICHD-funded grant. She graduated from the University of Alabama in 2015 with a B.S. in Psychology. Chistine's research interest include examining how parent-child relationships and parenting affect social, emotional, and academic development of infants and children in low-income settings. Christine plans to pursue a PhD in Psychology in the future.
