Stephen Nowicki Jr. received his B.A. from Carroll College, his M.S. from Marquette University and his Ph.D. from Purdue University. He is the author of over 300 publications and presentations and the coauthor (with Marshall Duke) of four books. During his 34 years of teaching at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Nowicki has served as Director of Clinical Training, Head of the Psychological Center, and Head of the Counseling Center. He has received two Fulbright awards, has been twice named a von Humboldt Scholar for Research in Germany, and has been awarded the Benjamin Meaker and Leverhulme fellowships for research study in England. He received the outstanding researcher in applied settings from the Division of Clinical Psychology of the American Psychological Society of which he is a founding fellow. At Emory he has received the Emory Williams Teaching Award and currently is the Charles Howard Candler Distinguished Professor of Psychology. Dr. Nowicki continues to be a consultant to public school programs and maintains an active clinical practice as a Diplomate in Psychology.
