Calculations: Between Groups Sums of Squares
This value is the foundation
of our estimate of the variance of scores across all of the cells in the study
design. We must first obtain the overall between groups estimate and then
estimate the sums of squares of specific components of the design.
Formula
Using the sums from the design table, set up the equation.
Proceed with the calculations.
Our next step is to calculate the sums of squares for the main effect for Factor A (Difficulty of Test).
