A researcher wanted to know whether perception of a person’s height depends on his/her perceived status. A random sample of army inductees was selected and equally divided between four groups. An actor gave a short speech separately to each group, extolling the virtues of army life. The groups differed as follows: 1) the actor was dressed as a private; 2) the actor was dressed as a sergeant; 3) the actor was dressed as a captain; and 4) the actor was dressed as a colonel. The inductees were asked to complete a questionnaire evaluating the speech. As part of the questionnaire, they were asked to estimate the lecturer's height.
Choose the statistic you would use to test your hypothesis.
